Requirements
  • The ability to work under tight timelines and high stress while maintaining an exceptional on-air product.
  • Basic technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to properly communicate issues to the Maintenance Engineers and supervisors.
  • Computer hardware, software, and networking experience and the ability to quickly learn new applications and workflows.
  • Must work well with others in and out of the Engineering department and be able to communicate clearly in writing as well as in person.
  • Two years of college or technical school and two years of related experience preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Operating in Master Control, the Technical Operations Center, and Ingest.
  • Master Control automation experience a must with an emphasis on switching live sports.
  • Ensuring compliance with FCC regulations related to closed captioning, EAS, transmitters, text-to-speech, and the CALM Act.
  • Live news experience is also a must to include tuning in live shots via microwave, satellite, and bonded cellular.
  • Other duties include commercial and program ingest and segmentation as well as quality control of on-air signal.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts that may include nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Other duties as deemed appropriate and necessary.
