- A high school diploma or equivalency is required.
- At least one year of previous clerical and computer keyboard experience is required.
- Knowledge of computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
- The ability to communicate clearly and courteously with staff, patients, and visitors is required.
- Assist patients with questions and concerns and keep families informed.
- Coordinate patient requests and perform general clerical duties at the unit nursing station to assure the timely, efficient, and accurate flow of patient information.
- Welcome and direct visitors and hospital colleagues to appropriate areas.
- Page nurses and answer phones on the unit.
- Sign for important medical deliveries.
- Multitask between people and responsibilities while maintaining a courteous and respectful demeanor.
- Experience in a hospital setting.
