Requirements
  • Experience completing five years of on-the-job welding work, or completion of a welding technology course plus three years of on-the-job experience.
  • Proficiency in using gas and electric welding equipment.
  • Proficiency in using cutting, grinding, drilling, tapping, and threading machinery.
  • Ability to read and follow fabrication drawings without supervision.
  • Five years of job-shop production welding experience involving structural assemblies.
  • Five years of experience welding pressurized hydraulic assemblies and piping.
  • Ability to perform proper computer functions.
  • Ability to meet established production rates.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and power tools.
  • Knowledge of reading prints.
  • Ability to perform structural welding in flat, vertical-down, and overhead positions.
  • Ability to operate a plasma torch for burning, cutting, and pipe beveling.
  • Ability to cut, drill, and thread steel.
  • Ability to operate an overhead crane and hoist.
  • Ability to weld stainless and black pipe in non-ASME applications.
Responsibilities
  • Fabricate structural steel support frame assemblies for packaged pumping systems using the gas metal arc welding and metal inert gas processes.
