Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution is required.
  • At least one year of proven work experience training or teaching adults is required.
  • Knowledge or experience using the Cambridge Ventures curriculum is a plus.
  • Microsoft Office skills are required.
  • Ability to use Canvas, Teams, and Zoom is required.
  • Candidates must be subject to a criminal background check because the position is security sensitive.
  • Ability to perform sedentary work involving occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking, and repetitive motions in an office environment is required.
Responsibilities
  • Review student assessments and testing results and complete educational and vocational goal setting for assigned students within the first week of attendance.
  • Assist with tracking student hours in the Texas Educating Adults Management System.
  • Integrate approved distance learning curriculum in the classroom when applicable.
  • Complete daily class attendance rosters and accurately document student absences.
  • Maintain familiarity with current course textbooks, classroom materials, teaching aids, and teaching techniques.
  • Revise course content, teaching methodology, and technology to maintain currency and relevance for courses within the discipline.
  • Complete and submit all staff-related forms according to directed timeline requirements.
  • Immediately notify the supervisor of student support services needs, document referrals, and maintain confidentiality when discussing student matters with staff and volunteers.
  • Maintain working knowledge of and adhere to the College Mission, procedures, and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures, and Core Values.
  • Provide educational instruction to students in Adult Education and Literacy non-credit courses, including English as a Second Language, Reasoning through Language Arts and Social Studies, Math, and Science, according to the course syllabus, grant schedule, and college mission.
