Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organization and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to set and manage priorities under time pressure.
  • Knowledge of financial and legal issues impacting patients, preferably in oncology.
  • Understanding of financial and legal navigation services.
  • Knowledge of remote technology such as Zoom and Skype.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with interdisciplinary clinical partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook Calendar, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn NVivo qualitative data-management software and transcription cleaning.
  • Knowledge of state, CHFS, and funder guidelines.
  • Knowledge of Institutional Review Board submissions and continuing reviews.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations concerning the ethics of human-subject research.
  • Knowledge of grant-budget compliance guidelines and research account practices and principles.
  • Knowledge of human-subject research.
  • Understanding of financial and legal navigation interventions in oncology.
  • Ability to follow protocols and record biophysical and electronic data.
Responsibilities
  • Direct the day-to-day operations of multiple large research projects.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of studies, including timeline development and management.
  • Coordinate meetings with the research team and study partners.
  • Coordinate intervention sessions and data collection with patients, caregivers, and clinical teams.
  • Coordinate financial and legal navigation services in partnership with University of Louisville Health staff.
  • Provide legal and financial navigation assistance.
  • Prepare Institutional Review Board submissions, amendments, continuing reviews, and reports.
  • Monitor studies for Institutional Review Board adherence.
  • Consent research participants.
  • Purchase project supplies and order intervention printing.
  • Manage the ProCard and serve as fund custodian for participant and site incentives.
  • Process participant incentives.
  • Recruit participants and support intervention nurses and data collection.
  • Prepare manuscripts, PowerPoint presentations, and abstracts.
  • Perform duties during typical office hours as well as occasional weekends and evenings.
  • Travel domestically for research activities.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience with human research protocols or research involving human subjects.
  • Experience collecting a variety of data types.
  • Experience managing grant budgets.
  • Familiarity with Institutional Review Board policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with financial and legal navigation programs.
  • Experience as a project coordinator or research associate.
