Requirements
  • We seek a top tier Director of Engineering to lead the engineering team through our next phase of growth. The ideal engineering leader is one who is technical and accomplished in high-growth environments. We seek a leader who can participate in technical discussions along side staff-level engineers, who can mentor engineers and engineering managers, and marshal the resources to help increase the velocity of the team and help fulfill our business objectives
  • Our current technology stack includes NodeJS with Typescript, Ruby, Postgres, Google Cloud Platform, and FreeSWITCH
  • Salary: $195,000 - $250,000. If you are selected, we'll make an offer within this range that matches the experience you are coming with. We respect your time and don't intend to waste it
Responsibilities
  • Based in the USA. This position is not open to other countries at this time
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years of engineering management experience managing other managers
  • Experience managing multiple engineering teams to ship high-quality solutions efficiently without incurring technical debt
  • Deep technical expertise that lets you review code and architect maintainable solutions alongside staff-level engineers
  • Flexibility to step in as an engineering manager and mentor individual contributors as we grow the team
  • Comfortable working with the product team to assess solutions to user problems with the goal of balancing impact, efficacy, feasibility, and complexity
  • Fluent in, or can quickly become fluent in, TypeScript
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience at a startup or high-growth company
  • Familiarity with Node, Postgres, and Ruby
  • Experience recruiting and/or mining an existing network for engineers
