Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years controls system hardware and software design experience for a level II
  • Minimum of 10 years controls system hardware and software design experience for a level III, or a combination of education and years of industrial controls & automation experience
Responsibilities
  • Design and execution of retrofit projects involving AC and DC drives, servos, PLC, and HMI modification and/or replacement on Presses, Lamination, Slitting, and other capital equipment.
  • Specification, programming, and startup of coordinated drive systems for web handling applications.
  • Original development of PLC, HMI, and Drive System applications.
  • Design of secure industrial communication networks (EthernetIP, ControlNet, Profibus, Modbus, Devicenet, etc.) in collaboration with IT network professionals.
  • Specification of electrical systems and building automation for new and existing plants.
  • Design of electrical schematics and control panel layouts using AutoCAD.
  • Project Management of small and intermediate capital projects, including supervision of contractors and plant maintenance associates during equipment startup.
  • Collaborate with plant associates to specify electrical support equipment.
  • Design new power systems and distribution to support production equipment.
  • Travel, both domestic and international, to evaluate new equipment and technologies.
  • Provide technical support to production facilities with the purpose of avoiding service costs and optimizing performance.
  • Develop controls approaches for improving manufacturing processes.
  • Develop innovative technology that will give Printpack a competitive advantage.

Printpack closing North Carolina plant

Flexible and rigid packaging maker Printpack Inc. is closing the company's manufacturing plant in North Carolina, a move that could impact nearly 100 workers.

Layoffs Hit Nc: Label Printing Plant Closing In Hendersonville, Business Nc Reports

CHARLOTTE – Atlanta-based Printpack will layoff 90 workers and close its Hendersonville location at the end of the year, according to paperwork filed with the N.C. Department of Commerce. The plant, which has been operating since the mid-1970s, makes labels for water bottles and candy wrappers among other things, says Robin Potter, a human resources worker and 40-year company employee. [Ninety-eight layoff notices have been filed thus far across the state in 2023. More than 8,500 workers have been affected.]Printpack is offering limited opportunities to some employees to transfer to other locations based on skills and needs at those places.
