Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience managing Health and Well-Being programs or in a related position.
  • Experience planning and organizing events.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to persuade and influence in adverse situations.
  • Ability to analyze human resources data and develop strategies to improve programs and reduce costs.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a computerized environment.
  • Written and spoken French and English.
  • A Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of related experience.
  • Willingness to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based.
  • Authorization to work in Canada.
Responsibilities
  • Manage McGill University’s Health and Wellness program, ensuring strategic alignment with organizational priorities and employee needs.
  • Create and implement a comprehensive annual programming calendar incorporating conferences, communications, and educational content across multiple channels.
  • Develop prevention activities and actions using various sources of information.
  • Plan, organize, and execute large-scale initiatives such as the annual Health Fair promoting physical, mental, social, financial, and nutritional wellness.
  • Oversee and continuously enhance the Health and Wellness website, ensuring relevant, accessible, and up-to-date content.
  • Improve the offering in accordance with new trends in wellness.
  • Drive continuous improvement of programs by identifying emerging trends, benchmarking best practices, and introducing innovative approaches to employee wellness.
  • Establish, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators to evaluate program effectiveness and return on investment, and recommend enhancements accordingly.
  • Support the University’s efforts to obtain Excellence Canada certification and address psychosocial risks and their impact on employees’ psychological health and wellness.
  • Facilitate a cross-functional working group with University Human Resources stakeholders to identify priorities, co-create initiatives, and strengthen engagement.
  • Oversee and promote activities related to the Employee and Family Assistance Program.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and service providers.
  • Provide support for the management of the University’s benefit programs.
  • Support the Associate Director, Benefits and Disability Management, with related projects and tasks.

  • Membership in a professional order, such as the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés.

Club M&A and McGill's Dobson Centre launch acquisition programme as $218B in Canadian businesses set for ownership transition

Club M&A Canada and McGill's Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship have opened registration for their first Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition programme. The intensive four-day course, running 27–30 October in Montreal, targets professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs interested in acquiring existing small or medium-sized businesses. The programme addresses a significant succession challenge in Canada. According to the Business Development Bank of Canada, nearly one in five Canadian businesses will undergo ownership transition within five years, representing over $300 billion in business revenue. Marc Deegan, founder of R33 Ventures, will serve as programme director. The curriculum covers developing investment theses, target evaluation, financial and legal considerations, acquisition financing, and post-acquisition transition. Instructors include transaction professionals, lawyers, tax specialists, investors, and entrepreneurs with acquisition experience. Admission is by application, with no prior M&A experience required.
