Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or master's degree in architecture is required.
  • Three or more years of project management experience with clients in sectors including higher education, pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and biotechnology, and other science and technology industries.
  • An understanding of laboratory planning and the guidelines and codes that inform the design of science and technology facilities.
  • Ability to plan and organize a project, track progress, and redirect resources as needed.
  • Ability to evaluate and guide the work of others on the team and educate project team members on industry standards and procedures.
  • Strong presentation skills, including developing visual presentations and presenting verbally.
  • Ability to support proposal efforts involving work planning and fee assessment.
  • Ability to create work plans from proposals and contracts.
  • Client service and relationship skills.
  • Communication and collaboration skills.
  • Technical proficiency and experience in detailing and specification writing.
  • Demonstrable experience with complex building types in both new construction and renovation projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Revit, and Deltek.
Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of design projects of various scales and technical complexities.
  • Assist with proposal development and estimate fees and scope of services with the Partner-in-Charge.
  • Prepare work plans to support the Partner-in-Charge, communicate them to the project team, and verify progress to ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Manage project financial performance indicators in Deltek, including monitoring design fees.
  • Attend client meetings and interface regularly with clients and consultants.
  • Coordinate with Project Architects to ensure projects are executed according to client goals and expectations.
  • Serve as the primary client liaison to ensure schedules, budgets, and scopes of work are completed.
  • Promote teamwork, client service, and design excellence among team members and consultants throughout projects.
  • Execute quality control assurance in the project plan and ensure quality control measures are included in the project fee.
Desired Qualifications
  • A professional architectural license is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials code analysis.
  • Interest or experience in sustainable design.
