Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience as an Account Executive selling complex business-to-business software as a service, ideally in upmarket segments to finance decision-makers or in financial services, or equivalent financial planning and analysis experience.
  • A track record of consistently exceeding quota in an upmarket sales motion.
  • Experience working in tandem with a sales development representative or business development representative team on outbound-sourced pipeline, including improving targeting and meeting quality.
  • Ability to manage longer, multi-stakeholder sales cycles, including information technology, security, and procurement evaluations.
  • Strong command of customer relationship management and sales enablement tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar, with disciplined pipeline hygiene and documentation habits.
  • Ability to understand, quantify, and synthesize technical and commercial needs across a buying committee and guide prospects to the right solution before involving specialized reinforcements.
  • Ability to work strategically and independently, take ownership of the role, and sell effectively against a defined framework or system.
Responsibilities
  • Own and run the full sales cycle for prospects, from sales development representative-booked outbound meetings through close, developing relationships, uncovering complex organizational needs, and driving adoption of the solution across multiple stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with dedicated sales development representatives to sharpen targeting, messaging, and qualification criteria for outbound-generated pipeline, ensuring a high-quality, well-qualified meeting flow.
  • Own forecasting and quota, delivering consistently against quarterly and annual targets.
  • Navigate multi-stakeholder buying committees across finance functions, including chief financial officers, vice presidents of finance, controllers, and financial planning and analysis leaders, as well as information technology and security evaluators; build consensus and create bespoke proposals and business cases.
  • Manage a longer, more complex upper mid-market sales cycle with rigor, accurate Salesforce documentation, stakeholder mapping, and disciplined deal progression.

DataRails offers an AI-native FP&A platform called FinanceOS that automates and streamlines financial reporting for SMBs. It connects to 200+ data sources and uses cloud-based automation to consolidate data in real time while letting finance teams work with Excel-like spreadsheets. It differentiates itself with an Excel-native approach, real-time data consolidation from many sources, and an AI assistant called FP&A Genius that answers questions in natural language. Its goal is to speed up budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and other FP&A tasks so finance teams can focus more on strategic advisory work.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • January 2026's $70 million Series C funded North America and EMEA expansion.
  • September 10, 2026 Desk launch broadens penetration into AP, AR, payroll, and Legal.
  • Revenue reportedly grew 70% year over year, while headcount exceeded 400 in 2025.

What critics are saying

  • Abacum, Cube, Vena, Planful, and Workday Adaptive crowd Datarails' midmarket wedge.
  • Usage-based pricing plus embedded engineers expand support costs faster than software revenue.
  • If finance leaders reject AI agents after a compliance scare, FinanceOS becomes plumbing only.

What makes Datarails unique

  • Excel-native workflow keeps Datarails inside models finance teams already trust, not a replacement UI.
  • FinanceOS unifies 400-plus sources with governed data for auditable AI outputs.
  • Desk and FDFE services extend Datarails from software into finance workflow operations.

Datarails launches Desk ticketing system for finance teams following $70M Series C

Datarails has launched Desk, a ticketing system designed specifically for finance teams to manage vendor, customer, and employee requests. The launch follows the company's recent $70 million Series C round. Desk centralises finance requests from email, Slack, Teams, and other channels into a single queue. It connects directly to ERPs, HRIS, CRMs, and other financial systems through Datarails' FinanceOS platform, automatically pulling relevant invoices, payments, and records into each ticket. The system includes an AI agent that drafts responses based on actual financial data, automated routing with configurable SLAs, and team-based permissions with audit trails. Unlike generic ticketing tools, Desk is built around finance teams' workflow where a single owner resolves requests from start to finish. Desk is available now at datarails.com.

As AI demand outpaces skills, Datarails brings Forward Deployed Financial engineers into the CFO's Office.

As AI demand outpaces skills, Datarails brings Forward Deployed Financial engineers into the CFO's Office. Datarails, the AI-native financial operating system for the CFO's Office, today launched the AI Transformation Package, a service that embeds a dedicated Forward Deployed Financial Engineer (FDFE) inside a customer's finance team to build custom AI workflows directly in their Datarails FinanceOS environment. The launch follows a wave of forward deployed engineering (FDE) initiatives at companies like Microsoft and OpenAI, as tech giants invest billions to deploy technical talent inside customer organizations. Datarails is bringing that model to a function it says those efforts have largely skipped: the CFO's Office. The move is backed by recent research which found that nearly one in three finance jobs (31%) now requires AI skills, up from one in four a year ago - outpacing teams' ability to hire or build against that demand. Moreover, independent research from the Financial Education & Research Foundation (FERF) found that only 15% of organizations consider themselves well or fully prepared to support advanced analytics and AI initiatives. "You cannot parachute a generalist engineer into finance and expect trustworthy output, which is why we have seen vast demand in the market for finance engineers embedded inside of finance teams," said Didi Gurfinkel, CEO and co-founder of Datarails. "Our FDFEs have decades of experience on finance teams, which they now bring to bear as they work directly with customers to build bespoke solutions on top of the FinanceOS that underpins their AI efforts. This ensures that all outputs - from Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT - are accurate, governed, repeatable and auditable." The service is designed for teams with limited bandwidth but ambitious automation goals; organizations that want to fast-track AI adoption without requiring a lengthy and expensive IT project; and finance leaders who want to increase team output without adding headcount. Each engagement pairs a customer with an FDFE for 25 hours per quarter across a four-phase model - Discover, Build, Deploy, Evolve - designed to reach a live production workflow within the first quarter. The AI Transformation Package is now available to existing Datarails customers: https://lp.datarails.com/ai-implementation-services.

Datarails deploys finance engineers to CFO offices as 31% of finance jobs now require AI skills

Datarails has launched a forward deployed financial engineering service to help finance teams adopt AI technologies. The initiative pairs customers with experienced finance engineers for 25 hours per quarter to build automated workflows. The move addresses a growing skills gap. Research shows 31% of finance jobs now require AI capabilities, up from 25% a year ago. Meanwhile, only 15% of organisations feel prepared to support advanced analytics and AI initiatives, according to the Financial Education Research Foundation. Each engagement follows a four-phase model—Discover, Build, Deploy, Evolve—designed to deliver working solutions within the first quarter. The service targets finance teams seeking automation without extensive IT projects or additional headcount. The offering is currently available to existing Datarails customers who use the company's AI finance operating system.

Datarails launches FinanceOS, declaring traditional FP&A software dead in AI era

Datarails has launched FinanceOS, an AI-ready financial operating system, whilst declaring traditional FP&A software obsolete. The platform consolidates financial and operational data from over 400 sources whilst maintaining audit trails, permissions and governance, allowing finance teams to use AI engines like Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot for financial workflows. The system addresses a key barrier to AI adoption in finance: according to Gartner, AI adoption in finance functions has stalled at 59%, with data quality cited as the primary obstacle. FinanceOS provides real-time, auditable data infrastructure that maintains compliance with SOC 2 and GDPR standards. Available through usage-based pricing, FinanceOS can be operational within days. Datarails continues supporting its existing FP&A, Cash Management, Month-End Close and Spend Control products.
