Requirements
  • 3-5 years’ experience in export controls, compliance and managing compliance approvals.
  • 1-2 experience and/or training in jurisdiction classification adjudication.
  • Knowledge of legislation governing trade compliance.
  • ITAR/EAR Compliance Training.
  • Proof of Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure all import/export activities comply with local and international regulations (e.g., ITAR, EAR, DTCA, Customs Act).
  • Stay updated on evolving trade laws, sanctions, tariffs, and embargoes to mitigate risks of penalties or supply chain disruptions.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate trade documents (customs declarations, bills of lading, certificates of origin).
  • Identify risks in cross-border transactions (e.g., fraud, sanctions violations) and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Assist to conduct internal audits and post-entry reviews to ensure compliance.
  • Undertake jurisdiction classifications for controlled technology.
  • Work with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams (Legal, Finance, Operations, Security) to streamline compliance.
  • Conduct employee training on trade regulations and compliance with Cubic GTC policies and procedures.
  • Advise leadership on regulatory impacts and strategic compliance decisions.
  • Drive efficiency in compliance workflows and resolve gaps in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Desired Qualifications
  • 1-2 years training experience would be beneficial but not required.
