Requirements
- A degree in occupational therapy from an accredited school is required.
- An Occupational Therapist South Carolina license is required.
- A current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification or equivalent is required.
- New graduates are acceptable.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, administer, and direct therapeutic procedures used in physical medicine and rehabilitation as prescribed by a referring practitioner.
- Establish occupational therapy goals and reassess patient progress at regular, timely intervals with appropriate documentation.
- Assess and treat speech and language disorders and impairments.
- Conduct evaluations of individuals’ speech and language skills using relevant diagnostic materials and tools.
- Develop treatment plans using appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials.
- Establish treatment priorities, including advising, educating, and counseling patients.
- Complete required documentation recording assessments and progress.
- Collaborate with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers to provide effective therapies.
- Direct support staff in assisting with treatment when needed.
