  • No degree requirements if applicant has relevant background work experience necessary to be successful in the role. Examples of relevant experience include working in the construction trades, CNC machining, aerospace assembly technician, or automotive mechanic roles.
  • 1+ years of experience as metal additive manufacturing technician is preferred. 3+ years of total job experience in a relatable field is required.
  • Comfortable with hands-on machine operation of high value and high consequence equipment.
  • Highly organized with the ability to work flexible hours, including second shift and weekends, as needed.
  • Proficient communication skills, willingness to work and collaborate with a team to accomplish goals.
  • Knowledge of general fabrication methods including CNC milling, turning, EDM, welding, bending, etc.
  • Self-starter mindset, maintain focus on the goal and work towards it when input from process experts and leaders is stretched thin.
  • Willing to work on site in Kent, WA.
Responsibilities
  • Take extreme ownership for shop floor operation of a variety of additive machines to deliver hardware with a focus on flexibility and scrappiness needed to accomplish the goal.
  • Hands-on machine operation skills. The candidate should be comfortable operating high value equipment and computer-controlled tools.
  • The candidate will be comfortable delivering results in the face of adversity. When necessary, take action to find creative solutions and collaborate with experts/leaders.
  • Embrace a fast-paced startup environment, staying focused, self-directed, and eager to learn and adapt on the fly.
  • Knowledge and responsibility for mechanical systems necessary to support AM operations including gas and fluid plumbing, shop floor equipment.
  • Ability to engage in manual support removal using air tools, part de-powdering in Solukon, and EDM operation for cutting parts off build plates.
  • Ownership of shop floor cleanliness and organization. The candidate must be able to learn from doing and work towards continuous process improvement by providing feedback and taking ownership of 5S activities.
  • Maintenance of equipment and supporting tools relevant to the manufacturing process.
  • Ability to work safely while manipulating heavy objects and handling metal powders.
  • The candidate will have strong knowledge of hand and power tools, how to use them to accomplish a given task.
  • Digital work order inputs/outputs, ability to follow computer-based directions and provide feedback to engineering staff for continuous improvement of process documentation.

Stoke Space raises $860M in extended Series D to accelerate Nova rocket development

Stoke Space Technologies has extended its Series D funding round to $860 million, up from the $510 million initially announced in October 2025. The rocket company is developing fully and rapidly reusable medium-lift launch vehicles. The original funding was earmarked for completing Launch Complex 14 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and expanding production capacity for its Nova launch vehicle. The additional capital will accelerate future elements of the company's product roadmap. Founded by CEO Andy Lapsa, Stoke has now raised $1.34 billion in total funding. The company is backed by the US Space Force, Defence Innovation Unit, NASA and the National Science Foundation, amongst other government and private partners. Terms of the funding extension were not disclosed.
