Scope of Position

The Environmental Services Department provides quality cleaning services for patients, staff and visitors of The James Cancer Hospital & Solove Research Institute.

Position Summary
The General Service Assistant (Day Porter) is primarily responsible for maintaining the public areas of the facility, ensuring a clean and orderly environment for our patients, visitors and staff.
**Must be sponsored by a certified community or government program that supports the mainstream integration of individuals with developmental disabilities. Examples are: Project Search, Goodwill Workforce Development, etc.

Required Qualifications
Ability to read and comprehend English and understand common vocabulary.
Time management skills (being on time for work, staying on task while completing work duties).
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, patients, visitors and fellow staff members.
Continuously demonstrates a strong work ethic and responsibility.
Ability to follow a schedule yet is flexible to respond to requests and prioritize tasks.
Ability to work with a diverse patient and staff population, respecting all cultures, religions and ethnicities.
