Requirements
  • The ability to obtain, maintain, and access classified information at the T4 Public Trust level, which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in English grammar and punctuation.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work in a team or independently in a busy environment is required.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of management and coworkers, as well as a wide range of people with diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with exceptional discretion.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to produce quality work, meet critical deadlines, and pay attention to detail in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • A J.D. from an American Bar Association-accredited law school, or a bachelor's degree from an accredited university plus one year of specialized experience in a field that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the position.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate complaints to identify potential violations of HIPAA Rules and applicable federal civil rights, conscience, and religious freedom regulations, and provide written comments to the Contracting Officer's Representative.
  • Respond timely to correspondence and phone calls related to complaints and requests for technical assistance.
  • Draft documents related to complaint resolution, including investigative strategies, notification and data requests, closure letters, voluntary resolution agreements, and corrective action plans.
  • Conduct interviews of complainants and witnesses.
  • Review and analyze policies and procedures, medical records, reports of information system activity, computer audits, internet materials, and financial reports.
  • Apply nondiscrimination and conscience regulations, HIPAA Rules, court decisions, agency case precedent, theories, concepts, and principles to investigation, enforcement, and compliance work.
  • Work independently or as a team leader when required.
  • Participate in available company training and self-development.
  • Plan daily activities within company policy, the job description, and supervisor instructions to maximize personal output.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, report unsafe conditions or practices, and correct unsafe conditions within the scope of ability.
