Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Accounting/Finance preferred.
  • Professional accountancy qualification e.g. ACCA/ACA required.
  • 10+ years auditing (or combined accounting and auditing) experience preferred.
  • PeopleSoft or other accounting software applications experience preferred.
  • Team leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience in financial services industry and regulatory reporting preferred.
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and Powerpoint. Some basic SQL/query experience preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Manage effectively the team responsible for the financial and regulatory reporting deliverables. Coach and mentor the team members, overseeing performance objectives, training plans, and professional development.
  • Build strong working relationships across finance and across each of the relevant functions, including Group centres, to ensure valid, accurate, complete, controlled and timely reporting.
  • Understand purpose, goals and objective of the entities as well as the products, flow of business, accounting methodology for each entity.
  • Review in detail the quarterly summary of results, including analysis and explanation, by understanding and substantiating the movements.
  • Manage the efficient production of the financial statements, manage/co-ordinate audits of assigned entities and prepare reports to entity management or governing bodies (e.g. Audit or Risk Committees) as/when required.
  • Manage related regulatory compliance requirements, in collaboration with the relevant functions, for assigned entities, including but not limited to the Solvency II quarterly and annual returns (QRTs, SFCR etc.) and any other relevant regulatory deliverables.
  • Implement efficient, effective and quality processes and procedures in line with Group.
  • Contribute to the planning process at a legal entity level in partnership with Financial Planning & Analysis and review any legal entity plans as required.
  • Contribute to and maintain a robust internal control framework.
  • Co-ordinate and prepare tailored and timely responses to various stakeholders’ inquiries across any of the deliverables.
  • Play a key role in strategic initiatives for the EMEA Finance team.
