Requirements
- Previous dental assisting or sterilization experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental instruments and infection-control procedures is required.
- Strong attention to detail and organization is required.
- The candidate must be dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented.
- The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- The candidate must be able to work alternating Saturdays.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the dental profession, is required.
- A valid X-ray certificate is required.
- A current license is required for Certified Dental Assistants, Registered Dental Assistants, or Expanded Function Dental Assistants, as required by state regulations.
- Current CPR and first aid certification are required.
Responsibilities
- Clean, disinfect, package, and sterilize dental instruments.
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment.
- Maintain accurate sterilization logs and follow infection-control protocols.
- Keep instruments, supplies, and sterilization areas organized and stocked.
- Assist with operatory turnover and instrument delivery as needed.
- Support Dental Assistants and clinical teams throughout the day.
- Assist other dental specialties as needed.
