Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current registered nurse license in the state of South Carolina.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification or American Red Cross Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods, perform manual dexterity and fine motor tasks, lift and move patients or medical equipment, and navigate clinical environments.
  • Visual acuity, color perception, and auditory ability sufficient to read clinical information, monitor patients, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to handle the physical and emotional demands of patient care, including long shifts and stressful situations.
  • Compliance with infection control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Document initial nursing histories, assess patients' conditions, and develop individualized care plans addressing physical, psychosocial, environmental, cultural, and spiritual needs.
  • Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and other direct patient-care processes according to established policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate patient-care outcomes, consult specialists as needed, and revise nursing-care processes to optimize patient care.
  • Coordinate discharge planning.
  • Monitor and record patients' conditions.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Formulate and evaluate teaching plans based on identified learning needs, including family teaching, using an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Coordinate patients' ordered diagnostic and therapeutic services.
  • Communicate patients' conditions during hand-offs.
  • Perform charge duties as requested after six months of nursing experience and appropriate training.
  • Round on patients according to policy to improve clinical outcomes.
  • Orient or mentor new staff members.
  • Provide first-line customer service responses.
  • Manage supplies and resources responsibly.
