Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience with quality assurance inspection, methods, quality systems, or manufacturing is required.
  • An Internal Auditor certification for ISO is required.
  • Experience in basic metrology and calibration is required.
  • Understanding of inspection techniques and the ability to use inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, coordinate measuring machines, microscopes, and height gages.
  • Ability to read and interpret part and assembly drawings.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Explorer.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills are required.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, safety practices, and procedures.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, drug screening, and required pre-employment testing.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the Quality Assurance Calibration System by issuing monthly calibration requirements, ensuring timely completion, and verifying record completeness and accuracy.
  • Coordinate outside calibration services and related testing, quoting, shipping, and receiving activities.
  • Maintain and assist in optimizing the Gage Trak calibration software, database, and process.
  • Manage the Quality Assurance and production gage inventory.
  • Provide training and coaching on inspection and calibration methods.
  • Make decisions using detailed acceptance criteria and product specifications regarding the quality of parts and components.
  • Provide daily functional support to the Quality Assurance laboratory to resolve production, quality, safety, equipment, and gage-related issues.
  • Verify nonconformances.
  • Support daily inspections and testing as required.
  • Support continuous-improvement and new-product or process-development projects.
  • Assist with maintaining the Quality Business System.
  • Update and recommend improvements to existing procedures and develop new procedures.
  • Assist with electronic document control for the Quality Department.
  • Develop and improve inspection methods.
  • Provide training on document and process changes.
  • Manage the internal audit process and conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with current ISO standards.
  • Assist with external ISO surveillance audits.
  • Support outside agency visits related to certifications by interacting with auditors and inspectors and reviewing certification records and listings.
  • Maintain certifications, records, and listings in electronic format.
  • Review and monitor parts and products to ensure compliance with regulatory-body requirements and applicable standards.
  • Provide support to the Returned Material Authorization process as required.
  • Participate in and conduct Material Review Board meetings as required.
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties assigned by the Quality Manager or company management.
Desired Qualifications
  • Quality or mechanical laboratory experience.
  • An associate degree in manufacturing, engineering, or a technical discipline.
  • ASQ certifications such as Certified Manager of Quality, Certified Quality Technician, or Certified Quality Auditor.
