Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience installing, configuring, and commissioning building management systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of building management system protocols, hardware, software, and programming languages to troubleshoot complex system issues and coach more junior team members.
  • At least 3 years of experience in quality assurance/quality control or related roles.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to work independently in field and office environments.
  • OSHA 10 certification obtained within the past two years is required; if it is not current or has not been completed, OSHA 10 training must be successfully completed within the first week of employment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout job sites for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and lifts as required.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and work in tight or confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to handle tools, wiring, and small components.
  • Ability to work at heights and in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • Visual ability to read schematics, labels, and digital displays.
  • Ability to hear and respond to alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
Responsibilities
  • Review DDC and programmable logic controller drawings for compliance with scope and sequence of operations.
  • Assist in developing and standardizing documentation aligned with ISO 9001.
  • Support implementation of standardized file systems and quality processes.
  • Facilitate quality assurance/quality control coordination across departments.
  • Evaluate job sites for compliance with quality standards.
  • Act as the company representative with customer and contractor quality teams.
  • Support commissioning, testing, adjusting, and balancing activities, and project milestones.
  • Ensure field teams are prepared for inspections and project delivery requirements.
  • Execute detailed commissioning plans, including functional testing, sequence-of-operations testing, point-to-point verification, and system calibration for building management systems with minimal supervision.
  • Perform on-site commissioning activities, including wiring, termination, point-to-point verification, and system integration with HVAC, lighting, security, and other building systems.
  • Interpret blueprints and other technical documents independently.
  • Perform functional testing of the specified sequence of operations to ensure proper operation of control equipment.
  • Troubleshoot field devices, controllers, and associated wiring to ensure proper performance.
  • Collaborate with Lead Controls Technicians, Engineers, and customers to address concerns, clarify requirements, solve issues, and facilitate project completion.
  • Travel by plane or car to job sites, up to 50% of the time.
  • Work daily at the Irving office when not traveling.
