- Graduate from school of Radiologic Technology approved by CAHEA/JRCT.
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), ARMRIT, or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB); ARRT MRI Certification preferred.
- Perform MRI exams on varying strength magnets using magnetic fields and radiofrequency waves.
- Adapt to changes in technology and imaging techniques and implement safe and effective imaging practices for patients with and without medical implants.
- Enforce MRI safety given potential risks from implants such as pacemakers, nerve stimulation devices, and electronic pumps.
- Provide compassion for patients with claustrophobia and implement strategies to help patients overcome discomfort.
- Operate under the general supervision of the Radiologist and the MRI Supervisor.
- Advanced MRI specific certification by ARRT required within two years of hire if staff hold an ARRT license not in MRI.
- ARRT MRI Certification preferred.
- CE compliance according to governing body guidelines.
- BLS certification.
- Knowledge and/or experience in cross sectional anatomy is beneficial.
