The Ultra Finance function leads the budgeting and forecasting processes and supports the strategy process, as well as managing performance against budget. In addition, it ensures that effective financial controls are in operation in all businesses to ensure stewardship of the Group's assets. It ensures compliance with best professional standards, statutory financial requirements and fiscal provision and undertakes tax planning activities and ensure that the Group's tax reporting duties are discharged. It ensures that the Group has adequate long-term funding to meet the requirements of its Strategic Plan and supports M&A.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Assists the Accounting Manager with day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Accounting/Finance Department
• Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer’s benefit costs, accruals, and prepaid expenses
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance
• Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from department.
• Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports, verifying information.
• Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files, reconciling accounts.
• Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Supports accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice creation and entry.
• Regularly maintains detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
• Prepares documentation for external auditors.
• Daily reconciliation of cash flows and verification of bank balances.
• Performs monthly bank settlements.
• Maintenance of Project Costing
• Performs all other duties as required, requested, or needed. 

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree; accounting or finance a plus
• 3+ years of experience managing transactional accounting tasks in a public or privately held organization 
• Experience with journal entries, monthly and year end close 
• Must be proficient in Excel
• This position requires either a US Person or a non-US Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles 
• Previous experience completing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements 
• Strong analytical skills with particular attention to detail
• Detail oriented with strong time management and organizational skills
• Familiar working with manufacturing environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to change
• Ability to interact and communicate with multiple levels of the organization 
• Excellent teamwork skills.
• Highly organized with excellent recordkeeping.
• Comfortable managing a varied workload, with the ability to identify priority tasks.
• An elevated level of self-motivation and able to work on own initiative.

Expected Compensation:

The expected compensation for this role is between $70,000-$80,000 annually. Please note, this is the expected compensation however, Ultra Maritime considers many factors in determining compensation prior to offer, such as: responsibilities and scope of role, candidate's work experience and education related to position, applicable certifications or trainings, business and market conditions.
