Auth0 and Incode boost authentication security with biometric identity verification.

Auth0 and Incode boost authentication security with biometric identity verification. Secure your authentication pipeline. Learn how the new Auth0 and Incode integration uses biometric identity verification to halt account takeovers. TL;DR: Auth0 and Incode have launched new integrations to combat fraud with biometric verification. Incode ID Verification validates new users against government IDs, while Incode Face Auth Reset prevents account takeovers by requiring biometric scans before password changes. These tools enable high-assurance identity verification for regulated industries, boosting security without creating user friction. Building a resilient identity strategy means continuously adapting to sophisticated digital fraud. Organizations are looking for seamless ways to bring real-world, legal identity verification directly into their access management workflows. Elevating security at critical milestones allows businesses to establish an ironclad chain of trust from day one. While passwords and email-based reset links successfully verify credentials, high-assurance environments require an extra layer to definitively prove identity. The 2025 Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report confirms that stolen credentials are the primary entry point for breaches, playing a role in 88% of all basic web application attacks. Every day, attackers buy stolen credentials on breach forums. Inboxes get compromised. And the password reset flow - the very mechanism meant to protect users - has become one of the most common ways for attackers to take over accounts. An email reset link in the wrong hands is all it takes. For teams in financial services, healthcare, legal, HR, and government, this gap is not just a security risk. It is a compliance one. Regulators, auditors, and customers all expect you to know that the person behind an account is genuinely who they claim to be. Meeting these strict standards requires tying digital access directly to a verified legal identity. So Auth0 asked a simpler question: What if your login flow could verify a real, legal identity, and confirm it again at the moments that matter most? That is what Auth0 and Incode are launching. Prove identity once. Re-Verify it at the moments that matter. Two new Incode integrations are now live on the Auth0 Marketplace. Together, they create a continuous chain of trust, proving identity when a new user logs in for the first time, then re-confirming it before sensitive actions like a password reset. What is Incode ID Verification? The Incode ID Verification adds Incode's full biometric identity verification flow directly to your Auth0 login experience. When a new user logs in for the first time, they are automatically redirected to Incode to complete verification: capturing their government-issued ID and a live selfie. Incode validates the document, checks for liveness, and confirms the face matches the ID. Once verified, that identity is securely stored in the user's Auth0 profile. On subsequent sign-ins, returning users simply authenticate with a quick face scan. And you stay in control: configure how often users must re-verify (daily, monthly, yearly, or never), and optionally block login entirely if verification fails. What is Incode Face Auth Reset? The Incode Face Auth Reset helps secures one of the most exploited paths to account takeover. Before any password change is allowed, users get redirected to Incode to complete a live face scan. That face is matched 1:1 against the legal identity enrolled during their first login, confirming the person requesting the reset is the same verified individual who created the account. An attacker with stolen credentials and email access cannot pass this check. If the faces match, the reset proceeds. If not, it is blocked. Common use cases include: * Identity proofing at onboarding: For example, financial services and fintech companies verifying customer identity at account creation to meet regulatory requirements. * High-assurance login: Organizations requiring step-up verification for access to sensitive data, transactions, or privileged actions. * More secure password reset: Preventing account takeover via compromised email-based reset flows by requiring biometric verification before any credential change. What Incode ID Verification and Incode Face Auth Reset means for your team? You know who is really behind the account. By anchoring access management to a government-issued ID and a live biometric check, organizations gain confidence that the physical person logging in is the true account owner. Security does not come at the cost of experience. After initial verification, returning users authenticate with a quick face scan. No documents to re-scan, no OTP codes, no friction. You can deploy it in minutes, not months. Both integrations are available as Auth0 Marketplace. No custom development required. See Incode ID Verification and Incode Face Auth Reset in action. Here is a full end-to-end video walkthrough of both integrations: Get started. Both integrations are live now on the Auth0 Marketplace. Have questions? Download a copy. Incode Technologies, Inc. is proud to share that Incode has been named a Flagship Prism Refractor and Resilient Trust Leader in The Prism Project's 2025 Biometric Digital Identity Flagship Prism Report, placing Incode Technologies, Inc. among a select group of just 3 vendors recognized for shaping the digital identity landscape. This year's Flagship report introduces a unifying framework for the industry: Resilient Trust. It reflects a reality every identity program is living through right now: digital trust has to withstand two forces at the same time. What Resilient Trust means. * AI-resilient fraud defense as deepfakes, synthetic identities, and automated attacks scale faster than traditional controls. * Privacy and compliance-driven trust as regulations, user expectations, and data stewardship become foundational requirements for identity systems. The conclusion is simple. Security and privacy can no longer be treated as separate workstreams. They have to be designed and measured together, across onboarding, authentication, step-up verification, and high-risk transactions. Why this recognition matters. The Prism Project's Flagship report is positioned as a wide view of the digital identity ecosystem. In that landscape, being recognized as a Flagship Prism Refractor signals industry impact and leadership in shaping how modern identity is evaluated and discussed. For Incode, being named a Resilient Trust Leader reinforces what Incode Technologies, Inc. focus on every day: building identity experiences that stay fast for real users while helping organizations defend against AI-driven fraud and meet rising privacy and compliance demands.

Identity verification startup Incode launches Deepsight to detect deepfake video calls

Identity verification startup Incode launches Deepsight to detect deepfake video calls. Identity verification and authentication startup Incode Technologies Inc. is turning its attention to the challenge of artificial intelligence deepfakes with the launch of a new defensive system called Deepsight. With Deepsight, the startup is taking on a very specific problem with deepfakes, when artificial intelligence is used to generate a fake likeness of real people and impersonate them during video calls. This year has seen a big rise in the number of scammers using AI to clone voices, mimic faces and impersonate real people. Imagine a scenario where someone gets a frantic call from a best friend. Their voice is shaky as the friend explains they have been in an accident and urgently need some money. The caller recognizes the friend's voice immediately - they've known them for years, after all - but it's possible that voice might not be real. The increase in this kind of scam has been staggering. According to Identity Theft Resource Center's 2025 Trends in Identity report, cybercriminals are using advanced deepfake technologies to make such deception almost impossible for humans to detect, which is why such incidents have increased by 148% this year. Humans simply cannot know who they're dealing with anymore, which is why tools such as Deepsight are such an essential development. Incode says the ability to be able to tell real people apart from AI-generated fakes has become table stakes for security, and that's exactly what Deepsight aims to do. The new multimodal AI system is able to analyze video, motion and depth data simultaneously during video calls to surface any potential inaccuracies or inconsistencies that cannot easily be reproduced by generative AI. As Incode founder and Chief Executive Ricardo Amper explains, deepfakes are no longer just novelties posted on social media making fun of people and spreading misinformation. They have evolved to become a major weapon for fraudsters. "When identity can be faked, everything breaks," he said. "Deepsight restores trust by ensuring every capture shows a human user in front of the camera, not a deepfake." The Deepsight system employs a three-layer defense to help understand if a video caller is a real human or an AI fake, and the company claims that it's so accurate that not only will it identify any caller who's AI-generated, but even identify the generative AI model used to create it. Deepsight's behavioral layer works by spotting any subtle interaction anomalies from AI bots or fraud farms, while its integrity layer is used to verify the authenticity of the camera and device being used, so it can detect virtual media. Finally, there's a perception layer that helps to tell apart AI deepfakes from human users by analyzing modalities such as video, motion and depth. The company says Deepsight's effectiveness has already been proven in both the lab and in real world settings. In a recent study by Purdue University, which evaluated 24 deepfake detection systems, Deepsight achieved the highest accuracy and the lowest false acceptance rate among all commercially available tools, outperforming both academic and government models. Shu Hu, assistant professor at the School of Applied and Creative Computing and director of the Purdue Machine Learning and Media Forensics Lab at Purdue University, said it achieved the highest accuracy in identifying fake samples. "This outcome suggests that Incode demonstrates stronger robustness and reliability in challenging real-world scenarios," he added. Meanwhile, Incode's own internal tests reveal that Deepsight was ten-times more accurate than trained human reviewers at spotting AI-generated video callers. The results of these tests suggest that advanced systems are now essential for anyone who thinks they're likely to become the victim of a deepfake scam. Incode said the Deepsight system has already been deployed at a number of enterprises, including TikTok's parent company Bytedance Ltd. and banks such as PNC Bank, Scotiabank and Nubank. It added that it's helping to protect millions of users across more than 6 million live identity sessions so far. The system can be accessed now as part of the Incode Identity Platform, which also provides tools for KYC onboarding, authentication, step-up verification, workforce access and age verification. "AI will change how we live, work and connect," Amper said. "Our responsibility is to make sure it does not destroy the trust that holds it all together." Image: siliconangle/meta AI.
