Job Title: Maintenance Engineer [
Location: Detroit, MI 48201
Contract Duration: 3 months contract to hire
This is a 90 days contract to hire position. Please note upon conversion the worker will have the option to join the union. The Maintenance Engineer’s starting rate is $32.13/hr.
Position requires midnight and afternoon shifts including weekend coverage.
Job Description
·Mechanical, pneumatic and electrical skills, must analyze, troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and machinery. Maintains safe and clean work environment by following current good manufacturing practices (cGMP), and standard operating procedures
·Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, diagrams and equipment specifications.
·Flexible and adaptable in working with/on a variety of equipment, processes, projects or assignments
·Effectively works in a team setting, supporting team goals and objectives. Makes effective decisions relative to position requirements. Understanding and use of trades mathematics, calibration techniques, and precision measuring instruments essential
·Constant attention performing moderately complex work requiring close limits of accuracy and tolerances. Lifting, pushing, pulling, moving of equipment and machinery up to 60 lbs. frequently. May work in awkward and difficult positions
·Mandatory City of Detroit Third Class Refrigeration License or an Electrician Journeyman's status within 1yr of employment.
·Minimum of 3 years related experience preferred. Working knowledge of other maintenance trades/crafts
·Uses judgment to plan, perform, make decisions, troubleshoot and problem solve in performance of all maintenance tasks and prioritize workflow. Responsible for preventive maintenance activities.
·Works independently with minimal supervision and prioritizes own work schedule. Works with external contractors and vendors. Working knowledge of other maintenance trades/crafts
·Ability to perform all functions of job within 12 months. Familiarity with Personal Computers and basic use of a Windows environment preferred.
Additional details:
· Operations Maintenance is responsible for managing the service life of company assets which is inclusive of physical building and utilities, manufacturing/ warehouse equipment and tooling, office devices and physical layout of facility.
·This responsibility is completed through the management of appropriate internal and external resources as needed to ensure the dependable and safe operations environment necessary for a given CareFusion facility.
·This group has responsibility for both corrective and preventative maintenance and the necessary systems to manage, schedule and record this activity.

Qualifications
·Good written communication skills
·1-2 years experience required
