Requirements
  • Technical education in Mechanics.
  • One to two years of experience as a machine operator, or in a similar role involving box former, box closer, or case packer machines and high-speed production lines.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with peers and leaders.
  • Good mathematics skills, including the ability to read a tape measure and understand and convert fractions and decimals.
  • Analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using computers in a manufacturing setting, including Easy HMI, electronic settings, and resolving faults and alarms.
  • Experience performing minor mechanical repairs, including clearing jams, using tools, and making basic equipment adjustments.
  • Experience conducting preventative maintenance, including inspecting and maintaining equipment and detecting and correcting issues before they occur.
  • Ability to lift, pull, or push 50 pounds for up to 50% of the shift.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and twist for prolonged periods of up to 12 hours per day as required by the production area.
  • Maintenance experience.
  • Reliable and predictable attendance, ability to work a 2-2-3 schedule, and willingness to work overtime when requested.
Responsibilities
  • Provide support and demonstrate leadership in safety and quality within the area.
  • Comply with applicable safety legal requirements and internal and external standards.
  • Keep machines and the working area clean and in good condition before, during, and after the shift.
  • Operate production equipment and perform changeovers and fine adjustments on semiautomatic lines, specifically box former, box closer, and/or case packer equipment, following standard operating procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment or production issues in a timely manner.
  • Follow quality standards for products produced by box former, box closer, and case packer equipment.
  • Maintain continuous line flow, avoid unexpected downtime, and work with maintenance, engineering, and other support areas as necessary.
  • Achieve standard hourly production results.
  • Support line-operation activities, including autonomous maintenance, 5S, quality checks, and line-release audits.
  • Propose improvements to production processes related to safety, quality, and operations.
  • Collaborate with peers and leaders to maintain effective communication.

Lego unveils SMART Play Gateway at San Diego Comic-Con with interactive Pokémon and Star Wars experiences

The LEGO Group unveiled the LEGO SMART Play Gateway at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, an interactive booth experience featuring two immersive destinations. Attendees can explore a LEGO Pokémon Lab and a Mos Eisley Cantina recreation, both powered by SMART Play technology. The SMART Play platform centres on the SMART Brick, a 2x4 brick containing over 20 patented technologies that enable real-time interactive play through motion sensing, light and sound synthesis. The company also revealed new sets at the event. The LEGO Icons Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 Bridge, a 1,701-piece set priced at $199.99, launches 1 September exclusively at LEGO stores and online. The LEGO Donkey Kong Arcade, also $199.99, becomes available 1 August. The LEGO Minifigures Shrek Series releases 1 September at $4.99 per mystery box. The booth ran from 23-26 July at booth number 2829.
