Requirements
  • FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) and Series 6 licenses at the time of application.
  • Must obtain the Series 63 license within 120 days of hire.
  • At least one year of experience in a sales-driven position.
  • Ability to build relationships internally and externally, exercise independent judgment and decision-making, follow processes, manage time and organization, balance multiple priorities, and maintain a customer-focused orientation.
  • Ability to demonstrate consultative selling and advising skills, professional presence, listening, rapport building, writing, and presentation abilities.
  • Must obtain required federal and/or state licenses and registrations within the designated time period.
Responsibilities
  • Initiate daily contacts with targeted business partners to build relationships, discover needs where products and services apply, and provide consultation and advice based on client needs.
  • Develop and grow strategic partnerships and relationships with business partners to meet territory management performance requirements.
  • Determine the viability of business partners based on customer needs, business needs, and available products.
  • Respond to requests from business partners and external sales within the assigned territory by providing illustrations, proposals, and product or rider information, and address questions or concerns about those materials.
  • Assist with case design, business consultations, product updates, training, product rollouts, and point-of-sale consulting.
  • Contact business partners to support campaigns highlighting product features and benefits and advise on sales ideas and solutions, including new or existing products and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Partner with the external sales force to consult with business partners, grow their business, and advise on product and procedural modifications to meet business partner or client needs.
  • Engage business partners to retain their business with Nationwide, understand reasons for asset flight, and advise on alternative retention solutions.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • An undergraduate degree in human ecology, business, finance, communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience in a sales or service call center environment.
  • A background in financial services.
  • Fundamental knowledge of insurance and financial products and their consultative sales processes.
  • Knowledge and execution of the Teach, Tailor, and Take Control elements of the consultative sales process.
  • Additional licenses or registrations when new products and services are implemented.
