What you’ll do:

• Handle day-to-day accounting operations as part of the accounting team.
• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Contribute to an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close and timely reporting of all monthly financial information, including year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.
• Prepare journal entries and develop month-end reconciliations for review and variance resolution. 
• Drive change by contributing to special projects as assigned with a focus on process improvement. 
• Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

What you have:

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting or related field
• CPA license preferred
• 4+ years of experience in an accounting role (mix of public/private experience is a plus, preferably with a publicly traded company or late stage start-up)
• Strong experience and knowledge in U.S. GAAP and internal controls
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of major accounting software packages for general ledger accounting with the ability to adapt to new technology quickly
• Intermediate to advanced experience with Excel
• Superior written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills
• Quick learner with the ability to identify issues and resolve problems by applying critical thinking skills
• Highly organized and detail oriented
