We’re hoping that you, an engineering manager a few years into your management career, can come help us drive our team to new heights. You’ll mentor our talented frontend and backend engineers, partner with our senior engineers on project execution, work directly with our smart product managers to define roadmaps, coordinate the team’s work with other engineering managers, and build a strong culture together with everyone on the team.

We build our services on the JVM using Java and on the .NET platform using C#. Our data is stored in SQL and NoSQL databases. Our frontend applications are written in modern React with Hooks and Redux using TypeScript. Our services run on an in-house Kubernetes cluster for large-scale distributed applications.

You’ll be responsible for:

• A well functioning engineering team consisting of smart and compassionate frontend and backend engineers
• Continuously improving our processes using your experience and creativity
• Delivering impactful initiatives that improve the lives of restaurateurs
• Providing development updates to stakeholders within and outside of the team
• Mentoring engineers through 1:1s and performance reviews
• Hiring new engineers as needed, and helping other teams with their hiring goals
• Ensuring projects are delivered at a high standard and on time

• You have an empathetic mindset and enjoy working with developers, designers and product owners of all career levels
• You’re driven and obsessed with continuous improvement
• You are a senior engineer with at least 5 years of coding experience 
• You have managed engineering teams in the past
• You have driven successful projects from technical planning all the way to production
• You see communication as the cornerstone of building sustainable teams
• You enjoy mentoring and coaching other engineers in their career journey
