Requirements
  • Meet federal regulatory qualifications for directing a nursing-facility activities program, including one of the listed pathways: qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional with applicable state licensure or registration and recognized certification eligibility; two years of recent social or recreational program experience including one full-time year in a patient activities program in a healthcare setting; qualification as an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant; or completion of a state-approved training course.
  • Hold a valid driver's license appropriate for the assigned vehicle.
  • Have an acceptable driving record meeting Benedictine requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the wellness program and meet residents' social and wellness needs through planned wellness activities, exercise programming, leisure activities, and continued interaction with community groups.
  • Manage the selection, training, development, and performance of assigned staff.
  • Ensure the financial viability of the department, including development, management, and accountability of budgets.
  • Ensure departmental completion and implementation of the care plan and assessment process for all residents.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or Exercise Physiology.
  • Experience in long-term care.
  • Manager experience.
  • Experience coordinating volunteer programs.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
