Requirements
- More than 18 years of age.
- Previous experience in an analytical laboratory is desirable.
- Hands-on experience working with various analytical tools for solid and liquid chemical analysis and physical testing within a manufacturing laboratory environment preferred.
- Comfort with safe handling of hazardous materials and equipment, including ionizing radiation in the form of X-rays, is required.
- Familiarity with any of the following is highly desirable: Particle size analysis, thermal analysis (DSC/TGA), GC/MS, XRD, microscopy.
- Available to work approximately 40 hours a week during the summer of 2024.
- The employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
Responsibilities
- Conduct QC analytical measurements of incoming raw materials, including measurement of physical and chemical properties of battery components and solid-state electrolyte precursors.
- Assist in statistical process control, gauge repeatability and reproducibility studies, and control charting of quality metrics.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure analytical testing procedures provide sufficient and timely feedback.
- Support development of QC methods for raw, in-process, and final materials.
- Other analytical and quality tasks as assigned.
