Requirements
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • One to two years of HR administrative experience, with exposure to recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits, or other employee lifecycle activities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, particularly when working with employee records, documentation, and HR data.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and diplomacy, with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, with the ability to learn new systems and databases.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate employee lifecycle activities, including recruitment, onboarding, employment changes, and offboarding.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and general HR matters.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in accordance with organizational policies and legislative requirements.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR team.
  • Coordinate job postings and support recruitment administration across internal and external platforms.
  • Prepare employment documentation, including offer letters and onboarding materials.
  • Coordinate new-hire onboarding and orientation to support a smooth and welcoming employee experience.
  • Track pre-employment requirements and onboarding documentation.
  • Maintain accurate employee information within the human resources information system and related systems.
  • Administer employee group benefits, including enrollments, terminations, and changes, and respond to general benefits inquiries.
  • Prepare and maintain HR reports and dashboards and track key employee milestones and employment-related deadlines.
  • Monitor and respond to HR service requests and provide administrative support for HR initiatives and projects.
  • Support the planning and coordination of virtual and in-person organizational events and initiatives.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating website and social media content, including event information, program updates, announcements, and other organizational communications.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support for cross-functional projects and organizational initiatives as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Experience administering employee benefits, including familiarity with Desjardins.
  • Experience using human resources information systems, recruitment systems, or HR service-management systems.
  • Experience updating website content and organizational social media platforms.
