General Description:
The IT Senior ServiceNow Developer will be a technical lead for assigned applications and services while working across the business to develop new functionality and innovative solutions to address project stakeholder requirements. This role will analyze, design, develop, and implement software projects on the ServiceNow platform while aligning with Service Management best practices. This role requires good communication skills to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and the ServiceNow team in developing business solutions. This position will assist the ServiceNow team in monitoring and maintaining the platform’s performance and help resolve any issues that may arise. A successful Senior ServiceNow Developer will have a solid understanding of IT Software Development processes and principles, proven experience in scripting and software programming languages, and a strong technical foundation and knowledge of the ServiceNow platform and architecture.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
- Strong technical foundation and knowledge of the ServiceNow platform and architecture.
- Build and customize ServiceNow - from collecting requirements and writing implementation plans to coding and executing those plans.
- Use scripting tools to automate routine tasks being done in the ServiceNow platform.
- Create Requirements Definitions and Technical Specifications Documentation.
- Articulate technical concepts using easily understandable business language.
- Load, transform, and maintain data between ServiceNow and other systems.
- Research and deploy new releases, patches, and/or enhancements into the ServiceNow environment.
- Perform system and integration testing with sample data.
- Be responsive to production outages and remedy critical issues as quickly as possible.
- Recognize and report issues before they adversely impact firm operations or project schedule.
- Ability to adjust development activities in support of the high priority business needs.
- Monitor health, usage, and overall compliance of the IT ServiceNow platform.
- Serves as support and as an advisor to others within the team.
- Special project and duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of LDAP/Active Directory
- Knowledge of Cloud Architecture and Tools
- Must be able to act with a sense of urgency and adapt to changing priorities
Required Qualifications & Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator/Developer
- 5-7 years of experience in IT Service Delivery
- 3+ years of coding/scripting or software development experience
- 3+ years of experience using scripting/coding languages (i.e. JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Angular JS)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Moderate or advanced keyboard usage
