Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in STEM and/or disciplines in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical area of study
  • 4 to 5 years of professional experience in cyber security, software development or other related fields
  • Demonstrable proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, Go or Rust
  • Proficient in Linux and Unix based operating systems
  • Knowledge and/or experience of both offensive and defensive cyber security tools, tactics, techniques and procedures
  • Knowledge and/or experience performing vulnerability assessment and mitigation
  • Network engineering and architecture knowledge (TCP/IP, IPSEC, HTTP/S, routing protocols)
  • Willing to travel occasionally to work location or customer site/domestically approx. 10% of the time
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • 6 to 8 years of professional experience in cyber security (for Engineering Specialist)
  • Excellent communication skills; experience developing and delivering briefings for both technical and non-technical audiences (for Engineering Specialist)
  • Demonstrable history of project leadership in cyber assessments, prototype development and/or cyber research (for Engineering Specialist)
  • Experience with project management tools like JIRA or MS Project (for Engineering Specialist)
  • Some working knowledge of encryption, and authentication (for Engineering Specialist)
  • Some understanding hashing and encryption algorithms (for Engineering Specialist)
Responsibilities
  • Perform research in the areas of cyber and network security
  • Contribute to the development of security prototypes
  • Review network architecture designs identify security, dataflow, performance deficiencies
  • Identify security vulnerabilities in various SW and HW platforms and be able to make recommended mitigations
  • Participate in projects involving one or more of the following areas: Vulnerability Assessment, Cyber Security Architecture, Cyber Security Prototype/Capability Development, cyber system trade-off studies for various system designs or protocols, validation of network system requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Advanced technical degree
  • Experience with space systems, including familiarity with space, ground and user segments, as well as legacy software
  • Experience with configuring routers, switches and/or firewalls
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure, Kubernetes, and Docker and related security
  • Experience with Agile methodology and team collaboration tools
  • Familiarity with ICS/SCADA systems
