Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent amount of experience/training and 8 years', Master's and 6, Associate's and 10 or High School Diploma and 12 years' relevant experience.
  • 5 years related technical experience in Network and Transport technologies, tools, and techniques
  • 5+ years experience with large-scale enterprise/global networks in a high paced diverse environment
  • Current IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent
  • Current CCNA Certification
  • Current TS/SCI Security Clearance (US Citizenship required)
  • Position may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity
  • Able to travel (CONUS and OCONUS) for exercise support, 10%
  • Current U.S. Passport
  • Able to work evenings and weekends as needed
Responsibilities
  • Design and plan network systems.
  • Possess a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field.
  • Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
  • Provide specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
  • Conduct testing of network systems.
  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Evaluate and report on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
  • General knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems; solutions should be imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organization objectives.
  • Contribute to completion of specific programs and projects.
  • Works under very general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
  • Work is/may be reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts.
  • Represent organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
  • Interact frequently with internal and external management and senior-level customer representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and/or contractual clarifications.
  • Lead briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives.
