Requirements
  • A Master’s degree in a social work or social welfare program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, or from a social work or social welfare program offered by a regionally accredited institution.
  • Three years of professional social work experience, including at least one year of supervisory or administrative experience.
  • Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensure by the applicable South Carolina Board.
  • Ability to perform the stated physical requirements, including standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, reaching, using both hands and legs, performing repetitive motions, qualifying physically for respirator use, maintaining corrected 20/40 vision, working in a latex-safe indoor environment, and lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling, or carrying objects weighing approximately 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Authorization to work in the United States, as employment authorization is verified through the federal E-Verify program.
Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group therapy to adult patients in an outpatient community psychiatry treatment clinic within an academic medical center.
  • Interview clients, family members, and other providers to assess patients’ functioning, strengths, deficits, and emotional status, and develop a comprehensive picture of service and treatment needs.
  • Serve as a member of the treatment team in the diagnostic evaluation of clients and identification of treatment objectives.
  • Provide direct therapeutic social-worker services, including psychosocial assessment, active treatment, case management, and related documentation, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Report directly to the assigned primary supervising or collaborating physician.
