About the Team
The Transportation team in India is a part of the larger team that operates in Mooresville. We support our Mooresville team on various operational as well as reporting and project related activities. Our operations span across, Freight Pay, System Maintenance and Exception Management. We develop and support reporting for Purchase Orders, Carriers and 3PLs operating our DCC buildings. We also work on projects such as Utilization, Forecasting and Transportation Modeling.
Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this role is to help Lowe’s become more efficient at managing our Transportation Operations and serving our internal customers by facilitating a center of excellence for data, analytics, insights, and reporting. In this role, you will then own and execute mid to high complex BAU processes. Utilize the business context and functional acumen you have built, to drive process improvements by identifying inefficiencies in the current operations and designing solutions under the guidance of TL or Sr. Analyst. You will also drive mid to high complex projects that result in cost savings or service improvement along with the support and guidance of Sr. Analyst or TL.
You are expected to follow all the industry best practices and deliver high standards of quality, timeliness and efficiency. analyze and report accurate results; and identify meaningful insights that directly support decision making. In addition, you will also support the team with process trainings within the team and aim to position yourself as the Subject Matter Expert in all the processes and projects you own.
To be successful, the individual in this role must build and apply strong understanding of analytical techniques and disparate data sources - both internal and external, and strong domain expertise.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide data, analytics, insights, and reporting expertise in support of transportation data flow, volume forecasting, rate optimization, load planning, non-retail movements, parcel, ecommerce, freight pay, lane analysis, carrier performance and real time metrics.
- Utilize your knowledge on how to best leverage disparate data sources, relevant external data and strong domain expertise, in order to deliver on the needs of the transportation team.
- Leverage your technical & analytical skills to perform analytical and project work ultimately ensuring a high-quality deliverable that provides impactful as well as actionable insights.
- Translates a business question into a quantifiable problem statement and then collect, clean, transform and restructures data for mathematical or statistical analysis.
- Translates the results of your mathematical or statistical analysis back into business terms, present the findings and solutions in a comprehensible manner to the team before delivering the results to senior leadership so they can take necessary action.
- Maintains consistency in analytical and project best practices by brainstorming and partnering with other areas within the broader organization of Supply Chain.
- Responsible to continuously learn and share new analytical methodologies and techniques.
- Develops solid problem statements and use-cases, in collaboration with business partners, on how value can be created; builds analytical models, analyses and tests the solution before developing actionable recommendations for the business.
- Tracks measures of success and develops dashboards and reports that measure key performance indicators driving actionable insights.
- Offers insight and recommendations based on the data analysis

Years of Experience:
Overall 2+ years of Experience
- 2 years of experience in Supply Chain
- 1+ years of experience in Transportation or Logistics Management
- 1+ years of experience in Reporting and Data Analytics
- 1+ years of experience in Project Management
Education Qualification & Certifications (optional)
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research or Related Field
- MBA or Master’s degree in supply chain
Skill Set Required
- Moderately skilled in SQL
- Experienced in data gathering and visualization tools such as Power BI
- Experience in building automations using Python
- Excellent written and communication skills, including the ability to develop project presentation and documentation for management consumption
- Working knowledge of transportation operation
- Ability to manage and manipulate large data sets for use in analytical tools
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
Secondary Skills (desired)
- Any modeling experience in JDA Transportation Modeler.
- Ability to identify and drive cost savings opportunities without support.
- Ability to identify and drive operational efficiencies without support.
- Ability to drive strategic initiatives without support.
