Sanctuary, a world leader in building AI-based control systems for humanoid robots, is looking to hire a Network Engineer for our System Integration team. Reporting to the System Integration Team Lead, you’ll actively contribute to ensuring seamless communication between real-time compute systems, edge devices, and cloud that power our general-purpose robots.
The best candidates for this role have in-depth knowledge of robust network solutions with a proven track record of designing and implementing infrastructure for real time and edge compute environments. You’ll be a valued contributor as you demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Additionally, you’ll demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and drive continuous improvement in our general-purpose robot platform.

- Lead the implementation and deployment of data-centric network infrastructure, ensuring compatibility, scalability, and reliability.
- Achieve company-wide visibility as you partner with leaders to ensure an optimized network performance to achieve low latency, high throughput, and seamless connectivity between general-purpose robots, teleoperation systems, and machine learning policies.
- Implement and maintain robust network security measures to safeguard data integrity, confidentiality, and availability.
- Collaborate across the organization to support a fleet of general-purpose robots by monitoring network health, diagnosing and troubleshooting network issues, and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Act as a mentor and provide guidance to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, topologies and procedures.
- Provide reports on network performance and runbooks on network issues and resolutions.
Your Experience
Qualifications
- Over 8 years of network-related software engineering experience, with a focus on designing, managing, and deploying network infrastructure for distributed systems.
- Fluency in C++ and Python in Linux/Unix environment.
- Proficiency in DDS protocols (e.g. RTI DDS).
- Experience with large-scale network traffic performance analysis and optimization methods (QoS, DSCP).
- A good understanding of network and routing protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, IGMP, OSPF, BGP).
- Proficiency in network security principles and best practices including firewalls, intrusion detection, and prevention systems.
- Experience in implementing, operating, and supporting tools for network and security monitoring.
- Familiarity with tagging, tunneling, and encapsulation methods and standards including SSL-VPN, WireGuard, IPSEC, L2TP, VXLAN, QinQ, EVPN, and related methods, across IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
- Experience in data-centric design paradigms and quality of service configurations.
- Demonstrated strength and understanding of designing, scaling, troubleshooting, and optimizing connection infrastructure over various LAN and WAN mediums, including WiFi and LTE/5G.l
- A track record of technical excellence and successful projects under minimal supervision.

- Ability to troubleshoot and run root cause analysis on a system, including packet-level traffic analysis.
