Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field such as fundraising, sales, marketing, volunteer management, or nonprofits is required.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills and proofreading ability are required, including the ability to communicate with varied university constituencies.
  • The ability to identify, solicit, cultivate, and steward volunteers, donors, and prospects with the potential to give $10,000 or more is required.
  • Proficiency with a customer relationship management database, spreadsheet, and word processing applications, including Google Suite, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel, is required.
  • Demonstrated comfort with calendar programs, social media, and emerging technologies is required.
  • Occasional travel and availability to work some evenings and weekends, including Brown's annual Commencement-Reunion Weekend, are required.
  • Strong interpersonal and motivational skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, decisiveness, trustworthiness, confidentiality, and discretion are required.
Responsibilities
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward Brown Annual Fund Carrie Tower Society-level prospects, focusing on Leader-level giving.
  • Manage a pool of Carrie Tower Society prospects giving $1,500 or more, including undergraduate alumni not in a reunion year and graduate alumni.
  • Propose ask amounts and collaborate with Prospect Managers, the Associate Director of Annual Giving, and colleagues overseeing alumni class cohorts.
  • Serve as a primary Brown Annual Fund contact for Prospect Managers on assigned prospects.
  • Personally solicit released prospects for the Brown Annual Fund or collaborate with team members and program colleagues to assign prospects to appropriate volunteers.
  • Solicit unmanaged and unassigned prospects capable of making Carrie Tower Society-level gifts.
  • Collaborate across the Brown Annual Fund team to analyze, identify, and engage donor segments for upgraded giving and long-term philanthropic participation.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the Student Philanthropy Ambassador program.
  • Implement and manage omnichannel donor engagement and solicitation strategies using phone, email, text, video, and other outreach platforms.
  • Oversee the recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, and professional development of student fundraisers while ensuring compliance with university and division guidelines and policies.
  • Establish outreach strategies, workflows, segmentation, and performance metrics to strengthen donor participation and pipeline development.
  • Advance donor engagement strategies that expand leadership annual giving participation, strengthen stewardship efforts, and support the University's broader Advancement goals.
Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with students is preferred.
  • Some supervisory experience is preferred.
