Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Specification Writer to join our team! In this role you will support the production of specifications and coordinate the integration into the construction documents in the DC metro area.

Candidates must be local to or willing to relocate to the DC/MD/VA area.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Develop, revise, and maintain standard specifications, including Division 1;
• Develop technical documents to support design, construction, contracts, and operations processes for capital and non-capital rail transit projects;
• Develop and revise solicitation documents, including, but not limited to, Statements of Work, Requests for Information, and/or Requests for Bids/Proposals;
• Prepare policy and procedure documentation;
• Maintain the most up-to-date versions of technical standards in an orderly manner
• Conduct timely technical reviews of draft documents

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field;
• 5+ years of experience in preparing technical specifications and documents;
• Familiarity with MasterSpec 49 Division specifications format
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments within a transit authority;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (entire suite);
• Ability to write clearly and professionally;
• Ability to produce communications quickly, efficiently, and to a high standard; 
• General knowledge of rail transit agencies’ design, construction, contracts, and operations processes.

Salary Range:
