  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions, work well under pressure and deadlines, and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy
  • Proficiency with Windows-based computer applications including Microsoft Office software such as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
  • Familiarity with videoconferencing software like Zoom and Microsoft Teams
  • Minimum keyboarding speed of 45 net words per minute
  • Flexability and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Duties are performed in office and home environments and the field in a wide range of settings, including courthouses, congregate care or other institutional settings, and community agencies
  • Duties frequently require sitting and communicating with others
  • Must be able to transport oneself to work-related meetings, hearings, facilities, and settings where clients live
  • Take written notes during virtual and in-person meetings
  • Create documents, emails, and presentations from dictated content
  • Provide communication support during in-person and virtual meetings, calls, and events
  • Read out loud documents, reports, and correspondence as needed for content access
  • Proofread and format all written work produced by the supervising attorney
  • Prepare materials for mailing and shipping
  • Use electronic case management software to create project and/or case files, including recording required demographic data and maintaining accurate and timely information
  • When in-person, provide access to physical materials like books and files and organize desk and materials
  • Travel with and provide clerical support to the supervising attorney when conducting or attending outreach, education, and training
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working for non-profit or social service organizations
  • Associate degree in a related field from a two-year college or technical school
  • Knowledge of statewide resources available to people with developmental disabilities
  • Experience with or contacts in ethnic or language distinct communities
  • Life experience as a person with a disability or direct experience as a caregiver of a person with a disability
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work effectively with a variety of organizations and individuals with diverse perspectives, including people with disabilities, administrators, advocacy groups, and the public, and to maintain confidentiality in all matters
