Do you have organization skills so strong that your name might as well be Hermione? We’re looking for a Omnichannel Senior Planner to join our Planning team. In this role you’ll plan and analyze assigned merchandise categories across our retail business. You’ll also communicate hit, misses and go-forward strategies with key business partners at Hot Topic!
This role operates on a hybrid schedule and will require to work from our HQ located in the City of Industry, CA two days a week.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Manages a team of planners/associate planners to develop their planning and critical thinking skill set.
- Reviews team’s plans and challenges strategies and thinking to ensure the most accurate plans.
- Develops preseason unit/dollar level plans (where applicable) for sales, inventory, markdowns and margin in partnership with the buyers for both Retail Locations and Ecommerce.
- Manages assortment planning process to ensure they tie back to the monthly receipt targets
- Partners with Allocation Team to determine monthly allocation strategies and follows up to ensure appropriate execution.
- Initiates analysis of business trends, including but not limited to, category performance, regional, selling, and size selling.
- Manages the in-season reforecast process, focusing on future opportunities as well as minimizing sales/inventory risks.
- Manages the Open to Buy with the Buyer.
- Communicates over-/under-bought situations and provides recommendations for resolution.
- Recommends test strategies based on current category performance and initiates analysis.
- Partners with buyer to develop sourcing strategy that will fit within profitability goals.
- Works continually to improve profitability of areas through sourcing, inventory management, pricing strategies, etc.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- 4-6 years of retail allocation and merchandise planning experience.
- 1-2 years of previous managerial experience.
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Strong communication skills including ability to work in a team environment, give honest, direct feedback and is a solid verbal and written communicator
