Requirements
  • Must have passed Preliminary figure skating levels both in Moves In the Field and Free-skate.
  • Must have coaching insurance through Learn to Skate USA, USFSA, or PSA.
  • Current certification in CPR, First Aid and AED or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire required.
Responsibilities
  • Instruct, test, and evaluate participants in the skating lesson program.
  • Adequately plan and prepare in advance of teaching in an effort to foster skill development in each participant.
  • Provide ongoing corrective feedback to participants and relay progress to parents/guardians.
  • Maintain order and discipline in classes to ensure a safe environment and to promote a learning atmosphere.
  • Enforce all facility rules, safety, and policies.
  • Ensure participants use of City equipment, such as rental skates is within established guidelines.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all forms of communication such as in-person, email, phone calls, video calls and texts.
  • Enforce facility regulations, policies, and procedures; positively represent the City in interactions.
  • Resolve program issues within established guidelines.
  • Relay various inquiries to supervisors.
