Requirements
  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance.
  • At least 8 years of experience engineering and supporting Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and virtualized environments within Department of Defense or Intelligence Community environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure architectures, systems engineering lifecycle processes, and requirements analysis and traceability.
  • Experience developing virtual system architecture and design documentation and integration and test plans for virtual environments.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms and technologies, including Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop, or VMware virtualization solutions.
  • Experience supporting enterprise or classified virtual desktop environments.
  • Familiarity with performance tuning and optimization, capacity planning, and high-availability and fault-tolerant VDI architectures.
  • Experience leading technical teams and coordinating engineering efforts across multiple functional areas.
  • Willingness to support after-hours or on-call operations as required.
  • A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with equivalent experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Compliance with Department of Defense 8140 certification and training requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze user requirements, CONOPS documents, and high-level system architectures to develop virtual system requirements specifications.
  • Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities for VDI and virtualized environments.
  • Guide users in requirements formulation, recommend alternative technical approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.
  • Provide technical leadership for the integration of virtualization requirements, system design, and enabling technologies.
  • Incorporate new virtual system designs and capabilities into existing operational environments.
  • Develop and maintain virtual system architecture and system design documentation.
  • Guide system development and implementation planning, including Systems Engineering Management Plans and system integration and test plans for virtualized environments.
  • Interface with government stakeholders regarding virtualization engineering considerations, risks, and issues.
  • Ensure the technical integrity of work products and deliverables associated with the Virtual Systems Engineering scope.
  • Communicate technical status, risks, and recommendations to program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
  • Support troubleshooting and optimization of VDI performance, availability, and scalability.
  • Ensure virtualization solutions comply with Department of Defense and Intelligence Community security and operational requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • IAT II-level certification, such as CompTIA Security+ CE.
  • Citrix Certified Associate – Virtualization certification.
  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals or an equivalent industry certification.
