Manages a seven-day, multiple-shift operation of a dining facility which may have multiple styles of service including traditional cafeteria, made to order, delivery and catering service, and serves approximately 2,500 students, staff and guests each day; supervises and administers personnel functions including hiring, supervision and performance management for as many as 25 fulltime regular employees and 200 part-time student employees; manages all aspects of forecasting, procurement, production, service and customer relations; leads and fosters a team of staff to serve and support customers in the university environment; ensures that meals are served on time and in accordance with prescribed standards; oversees use of computerized food management and access systems; evaluates and assists in developing policies, procedures and services throughout the department.

Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or Restaurant Management or related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience in food service; basic knowledge of computers; knowledge of ServSafe or other food safety program; 3 years of experience in food service; 3 years of experience with and ability to calculate food, labor and supplies cost; 3 years of management supervision; 3 years of experience in using a computerized food management system, POS system and scheduling system; 3 years demonstrated experience in customer service management; successful completion of a background check.
Desired: Master’s degree in Hospitality or Restaurant Management or related area; HACCP training and applied knowledge; 4-8 years of experience in developing teams and coaching staff.
The Ohio State University’s Student Life Dining Services is a premier campus dining department dedicated to serving students, staff, faculty and guests. Critical to the Residential Experience, Dining Services administers the student meal plan to approximately 15,000 residential students on the Columbus, Mansfield, Marion, Newark and Wooster campuses.
The hiring range for this position is $55,700 - $72,700. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the selected candidate’s qualifications.
