Requirements
  • A minimum of five years of construction supervisory experience in commercial construction.
  • Advanced knowledge of associated trades, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, drywall, finish trades, and layout.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, contracts, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and their enforcement.
  • Experience scheduling work, materials, manpower, subcontractors, and equipment.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and communicate the project schedule to plan upcoming activities and keep the project on target.
  • Provide ongoing scheduling input to Project Management staff for scheduling efforts.
  • Coordinate the daily activities of all subcontractors at every stage of construction.
  • Complete project construction in accordance with the design, budget, and schedule.
  • Manage construction budgets set by the Project Manager, track construction costs, and submit invoices to Accounting in a timely manner.
  • Prepare detailed daily log reports covering site conditions, manpower, and activities.
  • Ensure all parties follow safety procedures and practices according to Occupational Safety and Health Administration and company requirements.
  • Conduct pre-installation safety evaluations and action plans with contractors.
  • Ensure appropriate machinery and tools are available to assigned construction workers and that hand and power tools are in proper working order.
  • Schedule and participate in inspections required by local and state regulations, including final inspections for completed work.
  • Monitor daily construction procedures to ensure proper quality is achieved.
  • Maintain daily communication with Project Management staff about project status and potential issues affecting progress.
  • Respond to onsite incidents and emergencies according to company procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with project values up to $5 million or more.
  • Prior experience with scheduling software.
