Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Four years of experience in cabinetmaking is required.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Advanced knowledge of cabinetmaking processes and products.
Responsibilities
  • Fabricate complex, high-quality furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using stationary and handheld tools.
  • Interpret material specifications and design and engineering drawings to ensure finished products meet design and engineering requirements with a high level of quality and detail.
  • Coordinate with supervision to ensure compliance with customer-approved design samples.
  • Utilize a variety of woodworking tools and techniques.
  • Comply with and champion safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies and ensure the protection of aircraft interiors.
  • Work with leads and higher-skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements that increase safety and reduce cost, cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Six Sigma and other process improvement techniques.
  • Utilize the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign off work.
  • Accept lead responsibilities when required; mentor and train less-skilled technicians.
  • Oversee projects and coordinate with the lead to delegate tasks to assigned technicians.
  • Conduct safety audits and assist team members in conducting safety audits.
  • Assist in maintaining shop equipment and associated Job Safety Analyses.
  • Coordinate with other back shops when necessary.
  • Adapt to sudden schedule changes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Working knowledge of Gulfstream inspection and process specifications.
