  • A bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field from a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences-accredited program.
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology, American Medical Technologists, or equivalent certification is required, or certification eligibility with completion within one year of hire.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work variable shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call schedules.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, use a computer, perform detailed visual work, and lift, move, push, or pull up to 45 pounds.
  • Ability to work around biological specimens, chemicals, hazardous materials, laboratory hazards, moderate noise, and physical demands.
Responsibilities
  • Perform, validate, interpret, and report laboratory test results.
  • Conduct testing across the pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of the laboratory process.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
  • Perform quality control, quality assurance, and proficiency testing activities.
  • Ensure adequate inventory of supplies and reagents to support uninterrupted testing.
  • Identify and resolve issues that may impact test accuracy or patient care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and use laboratory information systems effectively.
  • Follow laboratory policies, procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with training and orientation of new employees and students.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and laboratory projects.
  • Communicate with providers, patients, and team members.
  • Support changing patient care needs, including flexibility across shifts, departments, and locations as required.
