Requirements
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in research and development environments.
  • A university degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with three-dimensional modeling and computer-aided design, electronics enclosures, and environmental sealing.
  • Experience with finite element analysis, vibration and shock analysis, and fatigue analysis.
  • Experience with computational fluid dynamics for thermal management.
  • Experience with electromagnetic compatibility, electromagnetic interference, and electromagnetic field interference.
  • Experience with design for manufacturing and assembly and vendor qualification.
Responsibilities
  • Help define the company's product.
  • Design mounting systems that are flexible across a variety of targets.
  • Build robust solutions with longevity and keep sensors and computers working within specification.
  • Help define the company's manufacturing strategy and inform what additional hires or partners may be needed to bring the product to market.
  • Collaborate with in-house software, electrical, and robotic systems experts to define integrations and specifications for sensors, vehicle control, and electrical or power-management subsystems within robotic platforms.
  • Work with the team to build and design the initial product, define the process and tools used, oversee initial production manufacturing runs, and mentor new hires as the company scales.
