MultiCare Yakima region president Tammy Buyok to retire at end of 2026.

MultiCare Yakima region president Tammy Buyok to retire at end of 2026. July 29, 2026 Yakima, Wash. - MultiCare Health System has announced that Tammy Buyok, president and market leader for MultiCare's Yakima region, will retire at the end of 2026 following a distinguished career spanning more than three decades in healthcare leadership, including more than 14 years with MultiCare. Buyok joined MultiCare in 2012 and was serving as the organization's vice president for facilities management and operations support services when she was tapped to lead MultiCare's operations in Yakima in 2023. Under her leadership, MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital and MultiCare's other health care facilities in the Yakima region underwent significant modernization - including technology infrastructure upgrades, robotic-assisted surgery enhancements and investments in advanced patient monitoring and nursing technologies. The region has also seen substantial growth in health care services, from new facilities such as an Indigo Urgent Care and a neighborhood emergency department, to expanded access to care for thousands of primary care patients and more specialty services throughout the region. In her earlier role as MultiCare's vice president of facilities management and operational support services, Buyok oversaw real estate strategy, facilities management, construction, emergency management and numerous support services across the health system. Her influence can be seen in some of MultiCare's most significant projects and initiatives, including the new MultiCare Mary Bridge Children's Hospital, major campus expansions at MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital, as well as MultiCare's growth in the Inland Northwest, Olympia and Yakima Valley regions. "Tammy has made a lasting difference across our organization in so many ways, and her commitment to excellence and dedication to the Yakima community will have impacts for years to come," said Florence Chang, president of MultiCare. "But of all her accomplishments, what stands out for me most is how she excelled in centering her leadership on people. Throughout her career, she invested in building strong teams, fostering collaboration and creating environments where team members could thrive. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Tammy so closely over the years. She will be missed." MultiCare will conduct a national search for a new leader to succeed Buyok when she steps down at the end of the year. About MultiCare.
