  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with elected officials, public agencies, campaigns, communications, organizing, or community-based organizations
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience building coalitions among groups with diverse interests
  • Highly organized and capable of prioritizing competing interests in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel within five boroughs of New York City and attend evening and occasional weekend meetings
  • Familiarity with New York City land use public approval processes and legislative processes
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Strong preference for Spanish language proficiency
  • New York City residence required within 180 days of hire
Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams to achieve organizational goals and priorities
  • Develop presentations to elected officials, community boards, and other stakeholders
  • Communicate regularly with representatives of the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Housing, Economic and Workforce Development
  • Design and assess engagement strategies incorporating diverse perspectives
  • Prepare written reports/updates on project portfolio and participate in hearings before the New York City Council
